Perhaps the biggest moment of the NFL Combine for Malik Willis came off the football field.
Willis helped a homeless pregnant woman and her son on the streets of Indianapolis while he was there for the 2022 NFL Scouting Combine. He told her that while he did not have any money, he still wanted to provide her with assistance.
Someone got a video of the whole scene, and it went viral.
NFL Network personality Kimmi Chex praised Willis for his kind act.
“We focus so much on what you do on the field, but that’s a moment where you didn’t know anybody was looking, and it just showed the goodness of your heart,” she said to Willis.
On the field, Willis wowed teams with his release, arm strength and throwing velocity. Willis threw a perfect deep ball live on NFL Network with combine analyst Rich Eisen calling the ball a “beauty.”
Many analysts are now projecting Willis as QB No. 1 in the draft, noting that he has the highest ceiling of any quarterback in the draft class.
Willis did not do any running drills at the combine, and it remains to be seen if he will do any at his pro day March 22.
After his pro day, he will continue training ahead of the NFL Draft, which begins April 28.
